Pun begins his story as an adopted "no-brand kid." He grows up to find himself deeply involved in the anti-war '60's counterculture, which lands him a spot on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted list. Later--after shamefully exploring the depths of despair and alcholosim--through a chance meeting with a larger-than-life American Indian, Pun becomes a respected Odawa tribal elder.
